Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting some of Washington County’s most dedicated public servants and community stakeholders for a walking tour through Charleroi. The purpose was simple but meaningful: to walk the streets, share the vision, and build alignment around what’s possible for this historic town.
Our tour began at Arthur Lofts (525 McKean Ave), one of Monval Capital’s flagship redevelopment projects. The building, once neglected, is being transformed into a vibrant mixed-use space with thoughtfully designed residential units and retail storefronts. It’s a small but symbolic step in our mission to revitalize Main Streets across the Mon Valley.
We were joined by:
Their presence was a powerful signal that this region is ready to rally behind grassroots investment and community-led development.
At Monval Capital, we believe towns like Charleroi don’t need to be reimagined, they need to be restored. The bones are good. The stories are rich. The people care. What’s been missing is long-term capital, consistent attention, and a shared belief that this place matters.
Revitalization doesn’t happen overnight. But it does happen when people, builders, business owners, officials, and neighbors, decide to walk forward together.
This tour was just the beginning. With more properties under renovation, ongoing planning around public green spaces like McKean Green, and a deep bench of local partners, we’re committed to being here for the long haul.
To everyone who showed up, asked questions, shared ideas, and offered support, thank you. We’re energized by your belief and proud to be building alongside you.
